Booking an appointment:

A referral from your GP or specialist is required to consult with Dr Georgina Hodges.

  • When you arrive the reception staff will give you forms to fill in on the day

What to bring to your appointment:

  • Copy of referral

  • Any scans or imaging investigations

  • List of relevant questions for Dr Hodges

  • You are welcome to bring a support person or family member with you to the appointment

Fees and out of pocket costs:

Fees vary depending on the complexity of the consult, if you have reached the extended medicare safety cap and if you hold a concession card.

Medicare contributes to specialist consultations.

Specialists appointments are not covered by private health insurance therefore the cost of a consultation is a combination of the medicare rebate and the gap.

When does my private cover kick in?

Private cover is used for daycare admissions and over night stays. Whilst Dr Hodges is very happy to see patients without private cover for consultations, admissions to dayward and hospital does usually require private cover, as the cost of self funding is usually prohibitive.

When you are admitted to the Dayward or the hospital there is no out of pocket charged by Dr Hodges.

Iron infusions:

Please contact the rooms to enquire about the out of pocket cost.

Overseas student or visitor cover:

Dr Hodges welcomes international patients with private insurance. She is happy to accept patients transferred from the public hospital.

What to expect at your appointment:

  • New patient consultation time: Between 30-60mins depending on complexity

  • Follow up review consultation time: 20mins

Results:

Dr Hodges is able to access your pathology and radiology results with your consent as long as you know where you had the procedure test or consult performed. If you have hard copies of results please bring these along.

The best way to ensure your previous results are available at your appointment is to note:

  • The name of the company where you had the test performed
