I am an Australian-trained clinical haematologist with over 20 years experience in patient care. I manage the full breadth of haematological conditions, with a particular clinical focus on acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

I started out as an intern in 2006, after graduating along with the first class of medical students from James Cook University.

I completed physician and haematology specialty training at The Townsville Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where I also undertook additional training in bone marrow transplantation. I was fortunate to be mentored early in my career by Dr Ian Irving, Dr Hock Choong Lai, and Dr Edward Morris.

I have been practicing as a haematologist since 2014. I enjoy private practice as I am able to provide a personalised experience, and get to know patients over the course of their journey.

I am committed to improving equity of access to healthcare, particularly for patients in regional Australia, and to expanding access to clinical trials and PBS-listed therapies.

Clinical trials are a central component of high-quality care, and I actively participate as a clinical investigator in multiple studies.

I am also passionate about medical education and have held several roles supporting junior doctors, including deputy director of physician training and as an examiner for the college of physicians.

My current investigator-initiated research focuses on identifying a transcriptomic signature associated with central nervous system involvement in Philadelphia-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
